huelga nuclear / ataque nuclear

huelga nuclear / ataque nuclear

Maybe a (bad) translation for nuclear strike.

Strike as ataque, golpe, not as huelga.

Huelga could Never be used in that sense.

There is no other explanation. It is definitely a translation mistake. - bill1111, Nov 12, 2010
That's a bad translation, for sure. Unless they're talking about a labor stoppage to protest nuclear power, but that would be weird wording. - KevinB, Nov 12, 2010

Unfortunately, Google statistics do not tell what portion is a gross mistake written by the inhabitants of the planet of the apes. :-( - mediterrunio, Nov 12, 2010
In this case, all instances huelga nuclear seem to have been written by Americans or machine translators. - lorenzo9, Nov 12, 2010
Yes, I was quite flabbergasted to see a textbook commonly used in the US show this term as the correct translation...all other translations seemed accurate, which is why I wondered. - mountaingirl123, Nov 12, 2010

http://www.elpais.com/articulo/sociedad/electricas/exportan/luz/pese/paron/nucleares/elpepisoc/20090328elpepisoc_4/Tes

Moratoria nuclear: http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moratoria_nuclear
