Is the word "libido" feminine after all..?
The SD and other dictionaries says it's feminine. I have read also that "mano" and "libido" are the only two words ending in -o that are feminine. I have heard though in a Mexican radio station the word "libido" used in its masculine form "el libido". Is it maybe that when it means "libido," it is feminine in some areas (such as Spain) and masculine in others (such as Mexico) ?

libido. (Del lat. lib?do). 1. f. Med. y Psicol. Deseo sexual, considerado por algunos autores como impulso y raíz de las más varias manifestaciones de la actividad psíquica.
I don't even know "libido" in the meaning of radio. I wonder if that is correct. The word libido is indeed feminine.
However, there is something curious about this, almost all Spaniards pronounce this word incorrectly
yes, true!!
We say: l í bido, accent on the first sillable, and that is plain wrong. ![]()
The correct pronounciatin is libido
hmm... I didn't know it was libido... I think in Mexico most people pronounce the word "líbido" too...
I've heard "el líbido"... and of course it's wrong, but I think is a very common mistake in Mexico... ![]()
