How to use 'Asi' properly.

Greetings SpanishDict users!
I have never really known how to properly use 'Asi' in a sentence.
Could somebody please explain how it is supposed to be used properly?

Hazlo asi- Do it like so. Asi se hace= this is how it is done. Asi son los amigos- friends are like that.
