Is it like, our bodies are still joined, or our bodies are coming together slowly? Gracias.

The second one.

Sometimes the verb "ir" is used instead of "estar" in the present participle: you could say "estamos juntando los cuerpos" and it would mean the same (perhaps giving the idea of a progessive movement or just in a more colloquial sense).

"gerundio" translates as "present participle", not "gerund". - samdie, Nov 10, 2010
