Hi again dudies,

SOLER can mean "to get used to" or "to get accustomed to". It is a normal O-UE stem changing verb. Thus, I become used to is translated "yo suelo".

Thus, the sentence means, "On the weekends, I get used to dedicating a few hours to cooking". Or, I am accustomed to spending a few hours cooking".

SOLER is a cool verb that is frequently used in Spanish.

Adios dude Mr. Harvey

I "usually" dedicate a few hours to cooking on weekends.

I "normally" dedicate a few hours to cooking on weekends.

I "tend' to dedicate a few hours to cooking on weekends.

Any of these would work, as you can see there are different words you can use for "suelo" under the context you provided. The important thing to remember is to convey the same message and to make it flow in the target language.
