Hello! I'm wondering about the phrase "dar un rol" - is this Mexican Spanish? Do any other countries use it? Thanks!

Clarification: I am referring to "dar un rol" as in to hang out/go somwhere (slang usage?) - jessui, Nov 8, 2010

It is not ´Mexican Spanish´.

They use dar un rol in Argentina too. (Cinema industries andf their jargon have expanded all around the world).

Answer to Clarification: Aaah! You mean pegar una vuelta! Do you see how important is to contextualize your question? No, it´s not used in Argentina in that way. You can hear dar un giro, pegar una vuelta, ir a patear un rato la calle, dar una vuelta.

In a different context, hacer un roll (hacia delante o hacia atrás) means making a half sommersault (forwards or backwards).
