CH4 Te acuerdas de mí VS me recuerdas

CH4 Te acuerdas de mí VS me recuerdas

I think one is do you remember me and the other is you remind me. Is there a way to say do you remember me with recordar, I usually think of it for remind and acordarse for remember, I know that's probably wrong.

Gracias.

"¿Te acuerdas de mi?" : do you remember me?

¿Me recuerdas?: Do you remember me?

¿Me puedes recordar (pasar por el supermecado)?: Can you remind me to (pass by the supermarket)?

So I'm right that acordarse or more for remember and recordar is more for reminding? Gracias. - jeezzle, Nov 8, 2010
Well, depends on context. Certainly you cannot use "acordar" for "remind", but you can use "recordar" for "remember". - Gekkosan, Nov 8, 2010

I think you can use both for being reminded:

Unos chocolates para que te acuerdes de mí;

Some chocolates, to remind you of me.

Me recuerda a mi abuelita, Me hace acordar a mi abuelita.

She reminds me of my grandmother.

But I'm pretty sure you can use recordar for remembering a person too.

¿(Tú) me recuerdas? Do you remember me.
