I thought conchita could also mean little shell???

I would think it could. I have always been taught that the "-ito" or "-ita" added to a words made it little. Since concha means shell, I think you are safe to assume that conchita means little shell. Although I am not sure if it would be best to use "conchita" or "concha pequeña". "-ita" and "-ito" endings have always been associated with little, cute, or terms of endearment in my experience but I can't say that conchita would be incorrect. Try looking it up in a few different translators and/or dictionaries to further your knowledge of the usage. Good luck smile
