What is the closest literal but acceptable translation for : "I don't want to rain on their parade."

Hello and welcome to the forum.

I found this in the Phrasebook (under the "More" tab):

"Aguar la fiesta a alguien"

"No quiero aguar su fiesta." = I don't want to rain on their parade.

'aguar la fiesta a alguien' no es una traducción literal, es la expresión que usamos en español para decir lo mismo que 'rain on..'. Y sí, es perfectamente aceptable en 'el mundo de los seres humanos' ;-) - bill1111, Nov 8, 2010
