Is the "siesta" still a common practice throughout Spain?

Hello Kelly, welcome to the Forum.
I can't answer that question until after my siesta, but meanwhile you can do use the "Search" box that is at the top of the "Answers" section in the Forum, write "siesta" there, and you'll see lots of answers to this very frequent question.
Cheers! (Zzzzzz...)
I've been 'spanish' my whole life. I've ALWAYS taken siestas. In fact, I think I'd be downright dead and sleep deprived without them!

Si!!! sobretodo en los pueblitos. Se corta todo lo comercial y se descansa al menos un par de horas. En argentina tambien se hace lo mismo. Por supuesto exceptuando las ciudades capital. Bye
A snoring Ecuadorian man just won first place in Madrid's recent siesta contest.
Read about it here.
Yes there are siestas but not how the USA sensationalized them and overexaggerates
My parents would never miss a siesta, but I don't like it personally. It is a personal decision, but there are still a lot of people doing it.
