"obiar" in old moral emblem
i'm translating a moral emblem, and it uses the word obiar. what does this mean? could the b actually be a v or something else?
context: about adultery
"....El delito es muy grave, y el que comete es castigado como homicida, o parricida, y por obiar tan grande impiedad, hay en todos los lugares principales hospital..."
could it mean avoid?
