"All the way"

Question

We use this in english a lot telling stories and giving directions. I want to know if there's a good spanish translation for this or if it's one of those colloquial things that's don't really work in translation. Ex:

"I got all the way to the end of the road and had to turn around because I forgot my purse."

"Yeah, walk all the way down the hall and take a right." etc etc.

Would this work?

"hasta el fondo" or "a fondo".

I like the use of "completamente" in this case.

So here is my Spanish translation ..........

---

"I got all the way to the end of the road and had to turn around because I forgot my purse."

(Llegué completamente al término de la carretera y tuve dar la vuelta alrededor porque olvidé mi bolsa.)
