Is "los peces" the plural of...?

Is "los peces" the plura of "el pez"?
Other questions have been about fish/fishes and I'm not asking about the English and I don't need to get into that discussion!
But I do need to know how to write in Spanish the plural for fish. Either "los o unos" is fine as the article but what is the noun? Or is "el pez" the plural in Spanish. Hope my question is making sense. Gracias.

"El/un pez" is singular. "Los/unos peces" is plural. That's it. We don't make the distinction between "two fish" / two fishes". If there is more than one, it is "peces".

el pez quiere decir un pez, los peces es plural y quiere decir unos peces o más de uno. Hope this helps!
