The first two words from today's word of the day, ileso, is an idiom or are there synonyms that can replace either words to mean the same thing?

Also can this word combination be used in any case? For example: Menos mal no he faltado el autobús.

Sorry, I missed the que there, unless you use a comma, for example.

Menos mal, no he perdido el autobús.
