"Con mucho humildad"
In reading about the race between harry Reid and Sharron Angle, I discovered an article in the Washington Post, entitled "How should Harry Reid say gracias? Con mucho humildad." Here is the link: http://voices.washingtonpost.com/postpartisan/2010/11/how_should_harry_reid_say_grac.html What does con mucho humildad imply? I know it means with humble thanks, but does it imply that he knew he was being mischevious or deceptive?

very humbly, but humildad is feminine, so it should say con mucha humildad.
Welcome to the Forum, Ted&Sue;.
I don't think so. I take the sentence at face value. According to the article, Reid faced an almost certain loss against the strong Republican candidate, and instead won the election solely because of the Latino vote.
I understand the title to mean that Reid should understand clearly who are his supporters and what the odds are against him, and act with due conscientiousness. And humility. ![]()
