What is a good Spanish word for spot?

I am translating a general message for my work and they use the word spot. The phrase is:
"to let him/her know that there is still a spot available."
I have thought of espacio or cupo but I just wanted to check with everybody out here before deciding on a word.

If you're talking about a job position, I'd use puesto. It means "post" or "position". It can also mean "place", like a place in line.

espacio funciona bien.. también se puede decir "lugar" pero igual... también paraje
