What do you call the 'ends' of your hair in Spanish?

I need to visit the hairdresser and I wanted to say the roots (las raices) and 'the ends". Any help much appreciated

eso se llaman puntas. El cabello tiene largos y puntas. La raiz es el cabello pegado de la cabeza
