This means "not good or bad"? Like este juego no es ni fu ni fa. It seems like a really odd thing. Is this a pretty common expression? Gracias.

hmm... to me, it means "ni una cosa ni otra"...

"neither this or that"...

It's common... it's like a lot of phrases "ni carne ni pescado", "ni picha, ni cacha, ni deja batear"...

And all of them mean you don't do either...

On "este juego no es ni fu ni fa"... it might have that meaning of "not good or bad"

So, just out of curiousity, where did fu and fa come from, they aren't real words are they? - jeezzle, Nov 3, 2010
To tell the truth I've no idea... according to the RAE it's a colloquial phrase used to express that you're indifferent at something - Tonyriva, Nov 3, 2010
fu is suposedly a sound cats do... and fa... well it might be just for oposition to the "fu" sound... but I've never though of those words when hearing the expression - Tonyriva, Nov 3, 2010
