We will remember

We will remember

I posted this last year at this time. For me, it will never grow old and never grow stale. We must remember the past or be doomed to re-live it.

Canadá, el norte fiel, fuerte y libre.

Across my land, across 6 time zones, every hour for six hours, an Act Of Remembrance will be played out on November 11th..

The cannons will sound.
A bugler will play the last post.
A lone piper will play his lament.
Reveille will sound on the bugle.

Canadians across our vast country will soon stop to remember in profound gratitude our men and women at arms.
We will remember the fallen. Our Highway of Heroes
We will remember those who having offered themselves were returned to us.
We will remember those who returned but were not sound in body, mind or spirit.
The great sacrifices of the past and of the present will be taught to our children and their children for generations.
We will remember them

To our fallen we can only say in unison with the whole commonwealth of nations:

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn,
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

To our veterans, a heartfelt “Welcome home. Thank you.”

To Canadian Forces wherever they may be in the world. "Thank you."

Canada, the true north, strong and free.

Here is today's addition. This is remembrance from one woman's perspective.

When the page opens with the words to the song, go to the end of the English words a look for this line:

Hear Mothers, Daughters, Wives sung by Judy Small then click on the MP3 playback starter.

Here is the link ----> Mothers, daughters, wives

Invictus

Out of the night that covers me, Black as the Pit from pole to pole, I thank whatever gods may be For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance I have not winced nor cried aloud. Under the bludgeonings of chance My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears Looms but the Horror of the shade, And yet the menace of the years Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate, How charged with punishments the scroll. I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul.

William Ernest Henley

Remembrance Day Pictures, Images and Photos

In memory of the soldiers who served so bravely. They gave their lives for a better tomorrow.

We do not forget our grandfather's, father's, uncles, aunt's, sisters, brothers and children who went overseas to serve our country and who did not return.
