English can also be a bit hard to grasp.....
I saw this joke in the Readers Digest and I actually had to 're-read' it to get it, then it made me laugh so I thought people on SpanishDict might enjoy it....
A little boy went to the library to check out a book entitled Comprehensive Guide for Mothers. "Is this for your mother?" the librarian asked. "No" said the boy. "So why are you checking it out?" - "Because I started collecting moths last week!".

Ha ha, ha. Oh, bless! But jokes in a foreign language are always hard to get.
Well, I hate to be a spoil sport .... and not too much of one, actually (the joke is very cute), but I did get it right away.
Perhaps because I was forewarned....

It's quite perceptive, actually. Both for what it says about how we learn language and attempt to extend that knowledge by analogy and, of course, what it implies about the vagaries of English spelling/pronunciation.
It's also nice to occasionally come across a joke that is both funny and can be safely repeated in mixed company.
I had to re-read it too, but on the second pass I got it immediately. English spelling will never cease to shock me. Two sounds so different written the same way!
Haha, funny and cute :D
