What is a "truck-table?"

This was used as part of the translation of "mesa."

  1. Set or rubber, anyone of the games played at a truck-table.
  2. Truck-table or the hire of it.

I've never heard of a "truck-table," and couldn't find it in the dictionary. Is it a folding table???

Truck-table means it is a portable table, hence the "truck" as in move and table, for table, so it probably means a folding table smile I hope this helps. Once i got home..i looked further into this, (I was in Math class being secretive, haha), and I found that a truck table is, a table usually used for gambling events and/or games.

From context, I certainly would want to agree with you. But am I understanding you to be saying that you have actually ever heard of a "truck table" ?? - Janice, Nov 2, 2010

TRUCO, s. in. a truck-table to play on, like the play of billiards.

from :Wikipedida book

and from Truco:

So with this information and our definition:

Set or rubber, anyone of the games played at a truck-table. Truck-table or the hire of it.

I really wonder if it is some form of game table, although I may be reading too much into this.

(I also found some interesting handmade tables that fit on the dashboard of a truck- but I am sure that is not it).
