Please correct my English and Spanish - Vaanz, Nov 2, 2010
"un baño" - Tonyriva, Nov 2, 2010
Take "a" bath. Very good again Vaanz. - ray76, Nov 2, 2010
Thanks Ray and Tony... - Vaanz, Nov 2, 2010
The word order is a bit weird. Better ones would be: "¡Papá! Toma un baño hoy por lo menos, por favor" or "Papá, por favor. Toma un baño hoy por lo menos" - bill1111, Nov 2, 2010
Thanks Bill - Vaanz, Nov 2, 2010
Excellent very funny! :hahahaha:) - FELIZ77, Nov 2, 2010

This is just nitpicking, but when you are talking about something that is nearby you usually say "ahí" rather than "allí". "allí" implies that something is out of reach, so to speak. - bill1111, Nov 2, 2010
Thanks Bill, tienes razón:) - luz_72, Nov 2, 2010

Papi!

Dad, if I water your head, you might grow hair!

"Si te riego la cabeza igual te crece el pelo" or ".. puede que te crezca el pelo" (by the way, the stress on the word "papi" is on 'pa', like in 'padre') - bill1111, Nov 2, 2010
jaja good one joe :) - 00b6f46c, Nov 2, 2010

Dennis the Menace thought Mr. Wilson appeared to need a little refreshment on a hot summer afternoon.

judging by the size of the glasses and the brewing Kit it must be England. - ray76, Nov 2, 2010
"voy a" is used when you are about to do something, in the coming weeks or months at most. When you talk about the -hopefully distant- future, you just say "le daré todo esto a mi hijo" - bill1111, Nov 2, 2010
Thank you billstpor, it is slow, but I am getting somewhere,¿ pero donde? - ray76, Nov 2, 2010

Because his grandfather refused to take his grandson to the beach, his grandson decided to bring the beach to his grandfather.

"threw" not "throw" - JoyceM, Nov 2, 2010
Thanks - 00b6f46c, Nov 2, 2010
"¿Te acuerdas de cuando lanzaste mi juguete de Superman.. ". If by "baño" you mean toilet then it is "por el retrete", if it is bathtub it is "a la bañera" - bill1111, Nov 2, 2010

Let's see, half of my estate will go to my son.....ahhhhh.......let me rethink this inheritance issue.

"destinarán" is good, but it makes more sense when you talk about an investment or a fund raiser, rather than an inheritance. In this case I'd simply say "serán para mi hijo". Also: ".. ¡voy a replantearme la cuestión de la herencia!" - bill1111, Nov 2, 2010

"Dad, I told you there would be showers this afternoon didn't I ? But you wouldn't believe me!" tongue rolleye tongue wink LOL grin smile

"¿Papá, te dije que habría aguaceros esta tarde, no es verdad ? ¡Pero no querías creerme!"

Editor's note:I struggled with knowing how to translate the phrase 'there would (will) be showers' in the sense of knowing whether to use ser, llover or hacer with aguaceros.

Corregid mi español, por favor grin

very stupid comment too, as the only mistake in this post is the O N E verb, so don't let an idiot's opinion make you feel sad. - 00494d19, Nov 3, 2010
