( The possessor of wealth is not made happy by having them, but by spending, not spending as you want, but knowing how to spend. )

Richness is not about having much, but knowing how to be happy with having enough.

When 'but' is used in this sense (rather or instead) it is translated as "sino": "La riqueza no es poseer mucho, sino saber ser feliz teniendo lo suficiente" - bill1111, Nov 2, 2010

Adam Smith wrote a very boring book called, "The Wealth of Nations." P. J. O'Rourke tried to write a funny book about it, but it was boring, too.

A man of wealth with bad morals, is not as wealthy as a poor man who has a wealth of good morals.

"Un hombre rico" or "un hombre con riquezas", "de la riqueza" isn't good. Also, "pobre hombre" means "poor man" as in "oh.. poor boy", not as in a guy with few possesions. What you want here is "hombre pobre". - bill1111, Nov 2, 2010
Finally "a man with good/bad morals" would be translated as "persona de valores" (good) and "persona sin valores" (bad) - bill1111, Nov 2, 2010
Gracias Billstpor. I hope i made the right corrections, I am a little confused. - Rolest, Nov 2, 2010

To be satisfied with what one has; that is wealth. As long as one sorely needs a certain additional amount, that man isn't rich.
