What does "un tipo rato" mean?

The story has both "un tipo raro" y "un tipo rato". I think they are trying to say he is odd. Would "un tipo rato" work here? Thanks smile

That sounds like rich-girl-from-Monterrey-slang...

it's probably a typo... but if it's not... it means..."a while"...

those girls can add up to 15 "tipos" in a 20 word sentence...

I would guess an old James Cagney saying.......You dirty rat!

Yes, I looked it up and it seems rato can work as an adjective but it doesn't make sense in the context of the story, lol :) - theredqueen, Nov 1, 2010

I think this is another typo, but I could be wrong. I think it should be "un tipo raro", however I could be wrong.
