En España tenía que compra el butagas para la cocina. It lasted pretty long.... (didn't cook a lot).

I believe "el tambito de gas" refers to a "gas cylinder" much like the type you would use in a paintball gun or the like. It could be a CO2 gas cylinder.... something on a small scale for toys or guns. I am not a native, so there could be a better explanation! Welcome to the forum!
