al parar final de los cuatro meses
how would this translate to English? Is this a common expression or is it missing a word? It should translate to something like ¨at the end of the four months¨ in the context. Thanks!

This sentence is really awkward... Not really correct. My guess would be what you said, "at the end of four months".
