¡Aquí está el objeto misterioso número 78-resuelto por Ray!

Esta foto muestra una "parte" de un objeto misterioso de mi vida real.

¿El desafío? - Adivina cuál es el objeto y la función del objeto.

(This photo shows a "part" of a mystery object from my life. The challenge? Guess what the object is and the function of the object.

If you can, post in Spanish and English, and, if clues are needed I will post them "along the way" so keep your eyes "peeled". And a rule for my game friends - you can post "multiple times" of course but please - one guess per post! That gives everyone "present" a chance to have a "stab at it" and makes it easier for me to follow the thread and the answers. Thanks.

Una canasta tejida para atrapar langosta o Yabbies.

A woven basket to catch Cray fish or Yabbies. wink cool smile

I noticed that it was not closely woven therefore something needed to pas

through it ,maybe water ,it is also roughly made so not for inside use,

the rest was easy, it is good fun and fantastic eating.

Oh and the tassles in your photo have caught my eye. My mum was a tassle-maker which she did from our home. So we always had beautiful bolts of silk hanging in the laundry which she used to steam before the tassles were made. - nonombre, Oct 31, 2010
Oh yes, the tassles are beautiful. They are so intricate. - Brynleigh, Oct 31, 2010

¡Bien hecho Ray!

My mystery object is indeed a woven fish-trap used by indigenous Australians. This one was made in Arnhem Land in our Northern Territory. It belongs to one of my bike-riding mates who lived there for a time and she has kindly allowed me to photograph this beautiful object for my thread. Gracias amiga.

And how does it work? Well, the fish swim into it and because of the way it's woven they can't swim out.

they used "Blue stone" blocks to make ponds ,races and traps, then traded them as far as NSW for local goods. How good is that? - ray76, Oct 31, 2010
Long ago I saw the stone fish-traps at Brewarrina - just amazing:o - nonombre, Oct 31, 2010
