Hola pup y bienvendio al foro :o

I think your sentence above applies to 99 per cent of us here at Spanishdict.

So how to start a conversation? Well - take a deep breath, swallow your fears (I know easier said than done), and say in a loud voice,

¡Hola amigo (amiga) mi nombre es.....¿Cómo está?

(Hi friend, my name is....how are you today?)

I recommend Paralee's lessons - they are very user-friendly.

¡Buena suerte!

Relax, put a smile on your face, and just jump in!

You'll probably have a little bit better luck if you practice a few conversations by yourself. When you think you are "close" you can take your show on the road.

Good luck!!!!

"Hola" usually does the trick.

How do you do it in English? Do the same in Spanish. But be prepared for someone to answer back in Spanish. Go in with at least a handful of phrases, including, "Please slow down. I'm just learning."
