It's not your fault, but some of the "preceding" sentences are grammatically incorrect. - lorenzo9, Oct 29, 2010

These all look good and you have followed the rules, except (d) where you changed "dogs" to "the dog."

a) As students get closer to their exams they become more nervous. (the...more).

The closer students get to their exams, the more nervous they become.

b) The tickets sold out within days because the concert was so well publicized. (such… that).

It was such a well publicized concert that the tickets sold out within a few days.

c) She's slightly angry but she’s very disappointed. (than)

She’s more disappointed than angry.

d) As dogs get older they become less aggressive. (the less)

The older the dog gets, the less aggressive it becomes.

e) Linda is beautiful, everyone looks at her when she walks into a room. (so … that)

Linda is so beautiful that everyone looks at her when she walks into a room.

The older dogs get, the less aggressive they become. - pesta, Oct 29, 2010
That is more common, but both are correct. - lorenzo9, Oct 29, 2010
But the teacher told us to start with "The older the dog ..." - jortosar, Oct 29, 2010
For one dog, "the older a dog gets, the less aggressive it (or he) becomes" - pesta, Oct 29, 2010
Or, "the older the dog gets, ..." is okay when you refer to a particular dog. - pesta, Oct 29, 2010

I'll help you with the first one:

a) As students get closer to their exams they become more nervous. (the...more).

As students get closer to their exams the more nervous they become.
