Hello rcmango,
Welcome to the forum and I would strongly suggest that you look up a member named Kiwi girl because she has posted a thread named Preterite and Imperfect. The thread has many examples for the preterite and imperfect. Also, when you post I would also suggest you post an answer (even if it isn't total correct or not correct at all). We, on SD, are looking for an effort from all our members. We are here to guide and direct not just simply translate and give answers (to homework or otherwise).
