Which books are the best for learning spanish?

I bought the book Spanish for dummies, and I believe it is quite all right, I've only read 25 pages though.

There are several Spanish for dummies books. I used the "Spanish All-in-One For Dummies" for a few months. It's 4 books in one. Just remember that it's not for dummies. If anything, it's condensed so much, it's almost a reference book.

You would do well to rely on more than one source.

You might want to check out the Telenovela Destinos. It's a 50-episode soap opera / mystery. It's free for online streaming at this site. I loved it.

I'm a big fan of the Practice Makes Perfect workbook series (several by Dorothy Richmond), especially the one covering verbs. There's also another good site you can use to practice verb forms called conjuguemos.com.

I suggest a book called Listos. It has three books, depending on your level of spanish. The book is easy to read, and comes with a free cd.
