The concept of a "punch-clock" is worldwide, so I need to know the name used in Spanish and is it the same in all Latin countries, for example the same name in Chile and Spain?

"Reloj de fichar", and probably "reloj de checar" in Mexico.

The act of punching in could be 'marcar la tarjeta en el reloj'

The act is simply "fichar" (or "checar" in Mexico)

fichar

*10. intr. Marcar en una ficha, por medio de una máquina con reloj, la hora de entrada y salida de un centro de trabajo, como justificación personal de asistencia y puntualidad.

Hi The, welcome to the Forum, it is actually a time clock right = in Spanish it could be 'reloj registrador' or 'reloj checador'. The act of punching in could be 'marcar la tarjeta en el reloj'
