How would I say " The flight went smoothly."?

I am trying to write a short story that is on a strange trip I took. I want to say " After they sat down, the flight went smoothly." How would you say that?? please.

El vuelo transcurrió sin contratiempos

Después de que se sentaron, el vuelo se desarrolló sin contratiempos.
(but I'm not a native speaker so could be wrong 
)
Perhaps these would be better for smooth flight - "vuelo suave" or "vuelo tranquilo"
