Dónde nació or Dónde naciste?

As I understand they both mean "Where were you born?" What is the difference between them? Is the difference formal/informal?

nació=formal (usted)
naciste=(informal tú)
Dont forget the anticipatory question mark ¿ with questions.
¿Dónde nació usted?
¿Dónde naciste tú?

I think ¿Donde naciste? is sufficent in tu form but if you didn't mention ustd in the other form it could be construed as where was he born. - kenwilliams, Oct 27, 2010
