Just heard this in a show. Is seat used like asiento on occasion?

In Spain trust me, nobody would understand you

Actually, we would not even say:

Estás en mi asiento.

direct translation of: you are in my seat.

Este asiento está ocupado, ha ocupado mi asiento, este asiento es mío, lo siento....

Any of these would sound more natural.
