Reconfortante VS confortante
Esta comida tiene un efecto reconfortante. Would confortante work here too, and they are just direct synonyms? Gracias.

We don't use as often the word "confortable" as you do in English. Generally we use "cómodo". Confortante can work, but it's quite more common to say"reconfortante", for a meal, a quilt, or a hug.
I agree: "confortar" is a verb that you learn it exists because you look it up; people normally use "reconfortar".
