where do I use vosotros?

Is vosotros only used in Spain? I live in LA and there are a lot of latinos here and I have never heard anyone use vosotros. They tend to use to Uds. for both vosotros and uds. When asked why they never use vosotros I usually get the answer "that's old Spanish". is this statement valid? are there any spanish speaking country besides Spain that use vosotros?

Yep... that's normally only used in Spain.

In Latin America... the closer you'll get is "vos", I've only heard vosotros when Spaniards talk, and in very old books... so hence the answer "that's old Spanish"
