Are these pretty close to the same? Te ves bonita. Te muestras bonita. Or is mostrarse more like seem "Tu padre se muestra simpático". Gracias.

"Te ves bonita" is "You look pretty".
"Te muestras bonita" sounds a bit strange. "Tu padre se muestra simpático" makes more sense.

Te muestras bonita... it's missing something to have a complete meaning.
"Te muestras bonita ante los demás, pero sé que en realidad eres malvada"
With other word is easier "indiferente" Te ves indiferente... it's a declarative statement... "you look indifferent" Te muestras indiferente... it's more of a subjective relation "you show yourself as indifferent"... it needs something extra to have a meaning... like
"Te muestras indiferente, pero en realidad sé que me quieres"
