How do you say "texting" in Spanish.

Naturally the "texting" I refer to is done on cell phones. Not that I want to use Spanish texting abbreviations. The whole words are hard enough for me!

You can also say, "Amolar el idioma" if you are referring to the way "texting" ruins a language.

"Mandando mensajes de texto" or "textear", but the last one is not in the dictionary yet.

Textear but it's not standard yet. You can add "ear" and make some a few different words and be understood.
