What are Contrails called?
How do we name contrails in Spanish? You know, those long streaks of vapors left behind by jet airplanes... I can't seem to find it anywhere. The English word, "contrail" is a portmanteau of "condensation" and "trail."

Hola pesta: estelas o estelas de condensación
¡Hola!, Pesta:
The helper in me cannot help helping in this question of yours.
I clicked on your link and was whisked away to a Wikipedia page which discussed the word contrail. It was a nice reference.
But, here is the helper part. When you look down the left side of that page, you see this listing (I have only copied part of it):
Languages
???????
?????????
Deutsch
Eesti
Español
Français
Ii you click on the language Español, the Spanish language translation of the page will appear. There you can read many of the same things in Spanish as are written on the English page. You will also see there the Spanish word "estela" which Heidita has given in her reply.
I'm never sure who knows about this great trick in Wikipedia and I hope you will not be offended that I have pointed it out to you. It is such a big help I think everyone should know about it.
Muchos saludos/Best regards,
Moe
..and if you use Firefox for web browsing and install the FoxLingo add-on,
you have instant auto-translation in Spanish or any other language for any web page you want!![]()
( It does many other things too, by the way).
It has its limitations, with errors e.t.c., but its a nice tool. ![]()
