I need to say that my favourite class is textiles in a letter to a pen pal, so I basically need to know "My favourite class is textiles"

If "textiles" is the title of the class, you might want to capitalize it, and/or italicize it to set it apart and make it immediately clear that it is the name of the class. - Janice, Oct 25, 2010

I do not know all the rules of punctuation and capitalization in Spanish other than that they are sometimes different from English. However, you may want to check if you should capitalize the proper title of the class - its proper name.

Incidentally, my desktop Harper Collins also lists "tejido" as a translation for "textile"

textile (as an adjective) textil

(as a noun) textil m, tejido m

CPD ?textile industry - industria textil

?textile worker N obrero(-a) m/f (del ramo) textil

However, looking in my hardcover Gran Diccionario Oxford, it seems that "tejido" would more often be used to translate "fabric"

tejido

a) (tela) = fabric;

tejidos sintéticos = synthetic fabrics or textiles

b) (de tela) = weave c (AmL) (con agujas, máquina) = knitting;

(con ganchillo) = crochet

d) (Anat) tissue

As you can see, "tejido" might even be translated with "tissue" in the field of anatomysmile
