I have to write a second sentence with the same meaning as the first one using the words given. Can you help me?

a) As students get closer to their exams they become more nervous. (the...more).
The closer students... Thanks

Hmmm... I'm confused. You have to re-word the sentence using the same words? (closer, students, the, more?) - athegr8, Oct 24, 2010

As students get closer to their exams they become more nervous.

You can also say:

The closer students get to their exams, the more nervous they become.

Thanks!!!! - jortosar, Oct 25, 2010
It would be very awkward to include that in this sentence. perhaps it is just understood without being said. - sagiia, Oct 25, 2010

The only way to re-word this using the same words given would be: The students become more nervous as they get closer to their (or the) exams.
