If it stays on forever, then why are there only a few pages of answers to look at? - beautifleebl

HI beauti, please read your PM on your questions about admins, click on your picture or name and you will see a message waiting for youwinkSome threads are deleted as they are inappropiate, but the rest stay on the forum forever.

Kevin, to find all the threads....click on answers, go to the next page, you will see a number in the http line at the end. (change that number to the one I mention belowwink )

At this moment we have 49740 questions on this forum, which makes 2488 pageswink

kevin, that would have taken you all day to get there one page at a time! jeje

If you want to take your answer off forever all you have to do is click on edit and then erase it and replace it with another word like delete for instance.

The answers page shows pages 1 to 3.

Click on 3 and it will show pages 1to 5

Click on 5 and it will show pages 3 to 7

etc, etc, etc.

You cannot close a thread. Only administrators can do that.

It stays forever. I suppose you could ask an administrator to delete it for you, but we like to keep them around. Sooner or later someone will come along and ask a similar question, and we can point them to the earlier answers.

Also, you can select the answer you like best as the "best" answer. Many members will see the check mark next to the question after you do this and not bother answering it any further. This gives the answerer 20 rep points, too.

I just went back 52 pages before I got bored. I've seen posts from 3 years ago pop up in searches. Maybe it's not forever, but it's a long, long time. - KevinB, Oct 23, 2010
Also, some threads show up below the dictionary entry if the word is in the title, allowing you to learn more about a word you just looked up- that's why the titles are so important. - Stadt, Oct 23, 2010
okayyy so i guess i didn't go back very far...thank you! - DaddysBabyGirl, Oct 23, 2010
