How do you say "we bring it on ourselves."

Sometimes enemies cause our sadness, other times we bring it on ourselves.

bring on = provocar, causar

In your example, A veces los enemigos son la causa de nuestra tristeza. Otras (veces ), la causa somos nosotros mismos.

I think in English I would say - bring it 'upon' instead of 'on':

Here's a couple of ways you can say that:

to bring upon oneself

buscarse, acarrearse

he brought it all on himself - él (mismo) se lo buscó

Hm.. I guess most people are relieved to see the "DTS 5.1" logo at the top of the cover, this movie probably loses all its appeal without surround sound.. - bill1111, Oct 22, 2010
