This from studyspanish.com

The Spanish way is to write the day + month + year. This is different from the American way (month + day + year).

el 29 de febrero de 1996

February 29, 1996

29.2.96

2/29/96

And here's some sample letters smile

It has to be at the top... and after the place where it was written...

it's also worth noting that the day comes first, then the month and finally the year

By the way... this is very specific for letters... when writing the date on a notebook or something you can write dd/mm/yy - Tonyriva, Oct 22, 2010
