"What do you do?"? - job question
I heard someone use a phrase that meant "What do you do?" but I couldn't catch what it was. What's the normal phrase for this is spanish?
gracias

The formal way of saying this would be:
"¿A qué se dedica?" "Me dedico a los estudios" o "Trabajo como profesor."
Or informal:
"¿A qué te dedicas?"
But I might just say:
¿Qué haces aquí? ¿Estudias o trabajas?"
But careful (¡Ojo!), this could be a little intrusive to ask... ![]()
"Qué haces?", "A qué te dedicas?"
I now this one ¿A qué te dedicas?
Ah, a que se dedica - that was what I heard I think. Thanks guys.
