Reflexive help in the preterite

I have a few questions about the sentence: "It took a long time for the plane to start, so I was bored".

  1. Would "It took" be reflexive (le tomó) or not (tomó).
  2. How would you say the word "so" in this sentence.

-Thanks

Le isn't a reflexive pronown. They're me,te, se, and nos. Tomarse means drink up. Example: ¡Tómatelo! Drink it up! How about: El avión tardó mucho en despegar. Por eso, yo estaba aburrido. Usually a plane doen't start, it takes off, no? Oh, and also os is included in the reflexive pronown list. Please correct me if there're any native speakers out there.

The only thing I would take from your sentence is "yo", El avión tardó mucho en despegar. Por eso, estaba aburrido, it's not wrong it just sounds better - Tonyriva, Oct 20, 2010

Tomó mucho tiempo para que el avión arrancara, estaba aburrido.

I wouldn't translate the "so"... this is how the sentence sounds natural to me
