i read this from a lathe basics text... "Forming" uses a cutting tool ground with the form or geometry of the desired shape" what does ground means in this sentence?? si es posible que significa ground dentro del contexto de esta frase del manual?

I would take "ground" as past tense of "to grind". The machinist that made the cutting tool shaped it to the desired form by grinding the metal in the process of making the tool. I think that answers your question.

When I first started using a lathe it seemed like a spent more time grinding chisels than turning wood. :) - lorenzo9, Oct 20, 2010
