Hello and welcome to the forum.
I would say:
"Hice muchos amigos nuevos."
Hice = past tense of "hacer" (to make)
Muchos = many / a lot
Amigos = friends
Nuevos = new (it's plural because the word "amigos" is plural)
You can also use the past perfect for this sentence:
"He hecho muchos amigos nuevos."
