What does "entredijes" mean?
I'm reading Ricardo Palma and there are several words that I do not understand, nor can I find the meanings through the internet.
The sentence goes: "...no de uno de esos cuentos de entredijes y babador..."

"cuentos entre dijes y babador" = stories for babies
Thanks everybody for the help!
I found this word...could it be related?
("Entredije" is the preterit form)
entredecir.
tr. Poner entredicho eclesiástico.
tr. ant. Prohibir la comunicación y trato con alguien o algo.
MORF. conjug. actual c. decir; part. irreg. entredicho.

I'm not sure at all...
However, I looked up the passage, and it's entre dijes y babador, and I think dijes, in this case, is a noun. Babador apparently means "bib" or chin-cloth.
So, it makes no sense to me, and I hope a native straightens us out, but here's my attempt...
...not one of those stories between charming things and bib.
That has got to be off somehow, though.
